VWorks Automation
VWorks is Agilent’s automation scheduler for BioCel platforms — controlling the Bravo liquid handler, plate centrifuges, sealers, plate hubs, and other Agilent instruments. Revolution integrates with VWorks as a remote driver, dispatching VWorks protocols from a higher-level Revolution schedule and surfacing VWorks events back to the Revolution Event Viewer.
Supported methods
Section titled “Supported methods”- Run protocol — execute a named VWorks protocol
- Pause / resume — control a running protocol from Revolution
- Status query — protocol step, instrument states, error state
- Result retrieval — pull VWorks-generated CSVs / logs back to Revolution
Integration
Section titled “Integration”Revolution communicates with VWorks via Agilent’s documented VWorks Automation Protocol API. Protocols are designed and verified in VWorks; Revolution references them by name and treats the entire VWorks deck as a single composite device on its schedule. This makes it possible to drive a BioCel from Revolution without rewriting existing VWorks workflows.
