Thermo Cytomat
The Thermo Cytomat family (2, 10, 24, 48, 6001) is an automated incubator with an integrated plate hotel. Capacity ranges from 28 plates (Cytomat 2) to 189 plates (Cytomat 6001). All models support controlled CO₂ and humidity; the 24 and 48 add O₂ control.
Supported methods
Section titled “Supported methods”- Load — accept a plate from a configured handoff position
- Unload — present a plate by ID
- Inventory — return the current plate map
- Environmental setpoint — adjust temperature / CO₂ / O₂ / humidity at runtime
- Door cycle — open/close the transfer station explicitly when needed
Integration
Section titled “Integration”Revolution drives the Cytomat through Thermo’s documented automation protocol over USB / serial / TCP depending on model. The plate map is mirrored to Revolution’s Storage Manager so lookups by barcode or by schedule role resolve without polling the device.
