PF400 with Rail
The PF400 (Precise Automation, now part of Brooks Automation — PreciseFlex 400) is a collaborative SCARA-style robot designed for laboratory plate handling. Four motorised axes plus an optional linear rail that extends reach across multi-metre benches, letting the robot service multiple instruments from a single base.
Supported methods
Section titled “Supported methods”- Pick / place — move plates between configured deck positions
- Move to — drive to any named position without payload
- Open / close gripper — explicit gripper control
- Linear-rail traverse — move the base along the rail to reach distant stations
- Home / park — return to home or park position between runs
Integration
Section titled “Integration”Revolution drives the PF400 through its TCP/IP control protocol. Deck positions are taught once in the Precise Setup Tool and referenced by name from Revolution’s schedule. Collaborative force-limiting means the robot is safe to share space with bench operators without a guard.
