BioShake & ColdPlate
Q Instruments’ BioShake and ColdPlate are bench-top plate-format devices that combine shaking and temperature control. Common in cell-culture mixing, oligo annealing, and reagent equilibration steps inside larger workflows.
- BioShake — orbital shaking up to ~3000 RPM with heating
- ColdPlate — Peltier-driven heating and cooling without shaking
- BioShake D-Series — combined shake + Peltier heating / cooling
Supported methods
Section titled “Supported methods”- Start shake — speed and duration, with optional ramp
- Stop shake — graceful deceleration
- Set temperature — target Peltier setpoint
- Hold — keep the current setpoint until the schedule continues
- Status query — current temperature, shake speed, error state
Integration
Section titled “Integration”Revolution drives the BioShake / ColdPlate over USB / serial using Q Instruments’ documented protocol. Setpoints and shake profiles are stored on the device and referenced by name from Revolution methods.
