Labcyte Echo
The Labcyte Echo (now Beckman Coulter Echo) uses focused acoustic energy to eject droplets from a source plate into a destination plate without ever touching the liquid. Volumes range from 2.5 nL upwards in 2.5 nL increments, with zero carry-over and no tips to manage.
Common Echo models supported: Echo 525, 550, 555, 650.
Supported methods
Section titled “Supported methods”- Transfer — single or batched well-to-well, with nanoliter resolution
- Cherry-pick — sparse maps driven from CSV or pick-list input
- Dose-response layouts — log-scale serial dilutions encoded in the pick list
- Multi-volume — different volume per destination well in one run
Supported plate types
Section titled “Supported plate types”- 384 PP-2.0 (standard polypropylene source)
- 384 LDV (low dead volume, ≤ 12 µL)
- 1536 LDV and 1536 PP
- Most ANSI/SLAS-compliant destination plates
Integration
Section titled “Integration”Revolution drives the Echo through its native Plate Reformatting Software / Echo Cherry Pick interface — typically as a socket call to the Echo PC. Source plates are surveyed by the Echo before each run; Revolution provides the pick list and triggers execution.
